Black Panther, Marvel's latest superhero movie, released on Feb. 16 and has seen a ton of success in its first few weeks. The film has been praised not only for its story and world-building but also its achievements in representation on screen and behind the camera.
At its current rate, Black Pantheris pacing to become Marvel's most successful movie ever made, an impressive feat considering the amount of movies Marvel Studios has pumped out since it kicked off its superhero film dynasty in 2008. Black Pantheris currently ranked 86th for all-time worldwide gross.
The next film for Black Pantherto beat out domestically will be The Lion King– which it should do shortly considering it's only behind by $1 million, and Black Pantherdoesn't look like it's going away any time soon. In North America, Black Pantheris expected to make $55 million to $75 million in its upcoming third weekend.
