Depending on Watch The Fearless Onlineyour feelings for The Walking Dead's resident bat-wielding sociopath Negan, this could be good news or bad news: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the man behind the AMC drama's vicious new villain, has confirmed that Negan will be around for the long haul.
SEE ALSO: No one's more upset about the 'Walking Dead' premiere than this sobbing fanDuring a recent interview with Howard Stern, Morgan revealed that the Walking Deadcast finished filming on Season 7 last week, and anyone hoping that Negan will get his comeuppance for killing Glenn and Abraham (and countless other victims) at the end of this season should probably adjust their expectations now.
When Stern asked how long Morgan was committed to The Walking Deadfor, Morgan said, "I know that I’ll be around for Season 8, we all know that."
That's bad news for Andrew Lincoln, who plays hero Rick Grimes, since Morgan also told Stern that he's been having just as much fun torturing his co-star as Negan has enjoyed toying with Rick this season.
"He's very much in character all the time which I particularly have fun with because, you know, Negan is under Rick's skin so now Jeff, in turn, is underneath Andy's skin, hugely," Morgan chuckled. "I really pick on him. I think the bigger reaction I can get off camera from him, if I can get him just screaming and swearing then I know I'm doing my job."
The Walking Deadairs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
