Since 2014, Bauer and compatriot Billy Cress have taken to Philadelphia-area Wawa and Starbucks outlets to protest the pre-autumnal pumpkin spice latte invasion.
Though Starbucks has not yet announced its PSL 2016 debut, other chains like Dunkin' Donuts already have the PSL out in full force.

Bauer tells Philly Voice, "When some people think about fall, they think of horrible artificial taste. We don’t see it that way [...] When I think about fall, I’m picturing myself wearing a flannel shirt, drinking something like apple cider, not a sugary, fake nutmeg taste.”
He opines that the PSL onslaught should start no earlier than mid-September.
Bauer's hashtag #StopPrematurePumpkinSpicing is used on Twitter and Instagram.
