A quick look at the best Prime Day laptop deals you can still shop:On any given day, Amazon's best laptop deals include some markdowns on Apple MacBooks... and not much else. The retail giant lists a lot of older and/or discontinued PCs that aren't super worth it. Amazon also has a penchant for inflating sticker prices, making discounts look steeper than they really are.
Those factors, combined with the heavy presence of sketchy third-party sellers among Amazon's laptop listings, make it one of the worst places to buy a laptop on the internet (again, unless you're shopping for MacBooks). We usually recommend shopping at Best Buy or going directly to the manufacturer's online store instead.
SEE ALSO: Last chance to shop hundreds of Prime Day deals: Our shopping experts have spokenThe fine print here is that Amazon usually gets its act together for major savings events, including its flagship Prime Day sale. When such sales are live, it'swayeasier to find heftier discounts on new laptops shipped and sold by Amazon itself (though it still behooves savvy shoppers to cross-check prices elsewhere, just in case).
Like clockwork, those hefty discounts appeared on Prime Day 2024 from July 16 to 17 — and some of them are still live the day after the sale technically ended. (Best Buy's Black Friday in July sale might've been the motivation Amazon needed.) A couple models from its usual assortment of MacBooks are holding at record lows, while a handful of clamshell and 2-in-1 LG gram laptops are still $300 to $500 off for the Windows crew. You're really only SOL if you were hoping to pick up a cheap gaming laptop: All of Amazon's good Prime Day gaming laptop deals were expired at the time of writing. The same goes for most of its Chromebook markdowns.
We'll continue to keep track of the best Prime Day laptop deals in the wake of the sale, in case you're still on the hunt for a new machine. Keep reading for the highlights.
Note:Deals with a 🔥have dropped to an all-time low price. Deals with a strikeout were either sold out or expired at the time of writing. We've cross-checked pricing with manufacturers' sites whenever possible to make sure the deals are legit. (If Amazon had the wrong MSRP, we corrected it and adjusted the discount accordingly.) We've also weeded out laptops sold by third-party sellers — if they have "Ships from/Sold by Amazon.com" underneath their "Buy Now" button, we're cool.
Read Mashable's full review of the 13-inch Apple MacBook Air (M2).
This is a record-low price for the previous-generation MacBook Air, a Mashable Choice Award winner with a "dreamy keyboard" and "rock-solid battery life," per tech and games reporter Alex Perry. (Best Buy was matching Amazon's deal at the time of writing, FYI.) While it lacks its successor's peppier M3 CPU, WiFi 6E support, and closed-lid support for two external displays, none of those omissions should be dealbreakers for students and casual multitaskers. Plus, it's hard to imagine it getting any cheaper than this while Apple still sells it.

Powered by an all-new Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor, the LG gram 17 is a thin big-screener that's impressively light for its size: it weighs in at just 2.96 pounds, making it even airier than the latest 15-inch MacBook Air.
This particular configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage actually retails for $1,399.99 on the LG website, meaning Amazon's still-live Prime Day price of $899.99 is an even better deal than advertised. (Ignore its listed "typical price" of $1,245.81.) You'll save a total of 36%.
