If there's one thing we know about the president-elect976 Archives it's that he loves taking credit for things that likely have little to do with him.
Donald Trump's latest self-proclaimed victory is the fact that Jackie Evancho's album sales have "skyrocketed" over the past month. But hold up -- who the heck is Jackie Evancho??! And what does she have to do with Trump?
SEE ALSO: 'Apocalypse' singer to perform national anthem at Trump inaugurationIt appears Jackie Evancho is a singer. A 16-year-old singer and former contestant on America's Got Talent, to be exact. And she is also Trump's new saving grace because she has agreed to perform the national anthem at his inauguration that basically no celebrities even want to attend.
On Wednesday afternoon Trump tweeted a lovely message, in which he gave himself credit for a recent spike in Evancho's album sales.

Trump wrote to those who doubted him on Twitter: "Some people just don't understand the 'Movement.'" Hmm... in reality, Trump, some people just don't understand whoEvancho is.

Due to the sheer confusion that followed Trump's tweet, we decided it was time to investigate the teen sort-of star, along with the president-elect's claims regarding her recent, outstanding success and turned to the Billboard charts for assistance.
It appears Evancho's most recent album, Someday at Christmas, has indeed been at the top of Billboard's Classical Music chart for a couple of weeks and TMZ reported that the America's Got Talent runner-up's weekly album sales quadrupled in digital downloads.
Despite the Classical charts, many people like Twitter user Dave Itzkoff, are not impressed by the singer's career or Trump's "Movement." Itzkoff posted a screengrab of Evancho's album at its current spot on the Billboard Top 200 chart. She sits at number 134 -- just above a Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits album that came out in 2004, and just below a Sam Smith album that came out in 2014. In other words, she is 133 spots away from number one.

Since Evancho has been on the Billboard 200 chart for three weeks, it appears the December announcement of her inauguration performance did have an impact. She was able to crack the Top 100 at a peak of 93, but since then her standing has been rapidly declining.
Billboarddecided it was time to fact-check Trump's tweet as well, and concluded that it all depends on how loose your definition of "skyrocketed" is.

The publication explained that according to Nielsen Music, Evancho’s album Someday at Christmasonly "sold 6,000 copies in the chart week ending Dec. 15."
After Evancho agreed to perform at the inauguration, the album "bumped up to 11,000 copies sold in the week ending Dec. 22," but quickly dropped back to 8,000 copies sold the following week.
While Billboard acknowledged that Evancho's albums have recently posted gains, it's also a holiday album and most holiday album sales spike around Christmastime. A holiday special also gave the singer a little bump.
Evancho's Google Trend data over the past 30 days shows a spike around Dec. 14, when she announced she would be performing at the inauguration. However, Google Trends data shows a significantly larger spike on Dec. 19, when an America’s Got Talentholiday special Evancho performed in aired on NBC. The special re-aired on Dec. 29, so the re-promotion was likely a contributing factor to her album success.
Evancho was runner-up on America's Got Talentin 2010.
That same year, she performed for President Obama at the White House -- so she's not new to the political scene.
Since then, she has released five studio albums and two DVD concert specials.
In 2011, she became the youngest person to give a solo concert at Lincoln Center in New York City.
She met Trump five years ago and they took a photo together:
Donald Trump is taking credit for her recent success, however, none of Evancho's studio albums aside from Someday at Christmas have made the Billboard 200 chart since her inauguration performance was announced.
And finally:
One of her most-streamed songs on Spotify is called "Apocalypse," so, there's that.
Perhaps if all goes well on Jan. 20 and Trump sends out a few more tweets, the entire world will know Jackie Evancho's name.
