The photos are accompanied with each dog’s story of abandonment through rescue told by writer and activist Richard Jonas. Royalties from the sale of Rescue Mebenefit the Humane Society of New York. “My portraits of homeless animals are not meant to make people feel sad. The goal is to find every animal a home," said Phibbs.
