Xiaomi's Redmi series of phones is Schoolmistress 2crazy popular in India, and for good reason: The phones offers good specs for an amazingly low price.
On Wednesday, the company launched three new handsets in this series: The Redmi 6 Pro, the Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A. These aren't flagships and their specs (though decent) won't wow you, but in terms of what you get for the price, they're probably unbeatable.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro has a 5.84-inch, FHD+ (2,280x1,080), notched display, a Snapdragon 625 processor, a 12/5-megapixel dual camera and a 4,000mAh battery. It comes in two flavors: The 3GB/32GB variant costs 10,999 rupees ($153) in India, while the 6GB/64GB version costs 12,999 rupees ($181).
Yeah, you could buy one Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or buy roughly six of these babies instead. Or, for a more fair comparison, the Moto G6, which has very similar specs but a weaker processor and a smaller battery, starts at 13,999 rupees ($195) in India.
Then there's the Redmi 6, which has a more modest 5.45-inch HD+ (1,440x720) screen (no notch on this one) and Helio P22 processor, but still rocks a dual 12/5-megapixel rear camera. The 3GB/32GB variant costs 7,999 rupees ($112) while the version with the same amount of RAM and 64GB of storage costs 9,499 rupees ($133).
Finally, the entry-level Redmi 6A has the same screen and processor as the Redmi 6, but only has a single, 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 3,000mAh battery. The 2GB/16GB version costs 5,999 rupees ($84) while the 2GB/32GB version costs 6,999 rupees ($98).
All three phones come with Android 8.1 Oreo, all three have a triple-card slot (one for MicroSD and two SIM slots) and Dual VoLTE support. All have a headphone jack, and all besides the Redmi 6A have a fingerprint sensor on the back.
The entry-level and mid-range smartphone markets are extremely competitive, but Xiaomi has once again raised the bar (or lowered it, depending on your perspective) when it comes to pricing. The prices, according to the company, are introductory: They will stay in place for two months and will increase after that.
The Redmi 6 Pro/6/6A will become available on Sept 11/Sept. 10/Sept. 19, respectively.
