Hadestown, a musical that's based on the folk opera concept album of the same name by Anaïs Mitchell, is a reimagining of the classic Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, in which Orpheus travels to Hades to see his dead wife Eurydice. Hadestown is set in depression-era New York City instead of ancient Greece, and also interweaves the story of Persephone and Hades.
In a short video, director Rachel Chavkin gives a little overview of Hadestown, which debuted off Broadway in 2016.
How, exactly, Bleszinski got involved is unknown, but he had admitted to needing a long break from video games following the commercial and critical failure of his last game, LawBreakers. Just before Christmas, Bleszinski teased incoming news of his next project, which he said was "not game related at all." That's one mystery cleared up.

Hadestownheads to Walter Kerr Theatre beginning March 22, 2019.
