Andy Murray was not here for a reporter's sexist blunder earlier this week.
During a press conference,Pinoy Archives a reporter suggested Sam Querrey was the first U.S. tennis player to reach a major semi-final since 2009—and Murray quickly shut him down, reminding him that no, Querrey was the first maleplayer.
The internet took notice of the Scottish athlete's lack of amusement, and so did Serena Williams, who had wonderful things to say about the Scottish tennis player.
“I don’t think there should be a woman player, and there shouldn’t be a female athlete, who is not totally supportive of Andy Murray,” Williams told ESPN's The Six Thursday.
"He has spoken up for women's issues and women's rights, especially in tennis, for forever," she said. "He has done it again. That's who he is, and that's one thing we love about him. He has such a wonderful mother, who has been such a strong figure in his life and he has done so much for us on our tour. We love Andy Murray."

Like Williams mentioned, this isn't the first time Murray has reminded less than competent folks that women also exist in the professional tennis world. After a reporter mentioned he was the first person to win two Olympic gold medals in tennis, Murray reminded him that, uh, the Williams sisters each have fourmedals to their name.
Murray, we love you too.
