The Lincoln Journal Starreports that Walp's boss texted him saying, "Pack your stuff ASAP and you can leave..." according to an arrest warrant that was later released.
Walp was still in possession of the truck's load of corn, so he allegedly decided to seek some revenge on his trucking company. He pulled over to the side of the road, opened his trailer's bottom hatch and took off, leaving nearly 1,000 bushels of corn strewn across Highway 8 in Gage County, Nebraska.
Walp was arrested last week and has been charged with felony criminal mischief as well as depositing materials on a roadway or ditch. According to UPI, the corn that Walp allegedly dumped on the side of the road totaled $3,100, while the clean up effort was estimated at around $500.
While it's unclear why Walp was fired, his revenge was as sweet as corn.
