While the rest of the world is erosion eroticism videowondering if virtual reality reallyis the next big platform, billions are being invested in the space, which means people are already chasing those very real dollars.
But not all of those people are entrepreneurs. Many are soldiers of code, and they're coming up with the most brilliant way to distribute their resumés to the growing numbers of VR startups: VR itself.
The immersive curriculum vitae presentations are cropping up on several platforms, including YouTube, where one job seeker used the video site's 360-degree feature (requires Chrome browser) to deliver an immersive version of his resumé in an idyllic virtual forest.
So far, the practice hasn't become a roaring trend among VR developers, but at least one community, Sketchfab, has seen a rise in the appearance of VR CV's, including one done in Tilt Brush, which requires zero developer skills (all you need is an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift VR headset).
Some of the VR resumés include animations, while others include static visual puzzles. But in almost all cases, the approach to designing a work history document in VR reveals the impact of letting your work serve as an introductory message to a potential employer.
And while VR has yet to yield its first mainstream hit, Goldman Sachs predicts that VR (along with augmented reality) will be part of an $80 billion market by 2025, so getting in early like these VR-powered job hunters is probably a wise move.
