SEE ALSO: Live from San Francisco: Apple iPhone 7 EventOn Wednesday, Apple's Phil Schiller came on stage and trolled the entire audience by first showing the iPhone 7 starting with a 16GB model, but then quickly, and with a distinct smirk, changed the image to show the 32GB iPhone 7.

The entry level 32GB storage option for the iPhone 7 will come as welcome news for the many iPhone fans who have struggled to make the paltry 16GB entry level model of the smartphone work for their needs. However, in the era of selfies, and especially now that Apple is even more focused on iPhone photography, 16GB was simply unacceptable for many, and Apple listened.
The good news is that high storage capacity entry level iPhone will not be priced higher than the previous entry-level iPhone, the iPhone 6S. It will cost just $649.
After the entry-level model, the other storage options are 128GB and 256GB, those storage amounts are the same for both the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
Both smartphones are available for pre-order on September 9.
