LONDON -- For the Scrooge that can Motherafford it, Christmas-tree decorating is now an optional affair.
At a price of £450 ($548), one may enlist the services of a tree stylist from UK retailer John Lewis to take care of all that silly drudgery of spreading Christmas cheer.

An additional £200 fee will be tacked on for tree delivery and decoration services.
Customers are also able to book free of charge a "Christmas consultation appointment" at John Lewis store locations on Oxford Street and Sloane Square. Tips like proper tree size and shape for your home, as well as trends in this year's decor will be revealed.
Dan Cooper, a Christmas buyer at John Lewis, is quoted as saying: “As a nation, we’re getting ever more competitive in ensuring that our tree is the best on the block and we then want to be able to share it on social media in a bid to keep up with the Joneses.
"We’ve also seen evidence of a rise in the multi-tree household with people purchasing more than one tree and creating more than one look."
Glad we're keeping the Christmas spirit in perspective, guys.
